The app features a collection of community assets and information, including restaurants, lodging, museums, and things to do.
The organizations say Terre Haute is one of only a few communities of its size to have an app of its kind.
“The goal in creating this app was to offer something fun and efficient for both the citizens who live and work here in Terre Haute, as well as those who visit. We want to engage our community and visitors even further by showcasing the array of assets and things to do,” said Josh Alsip, director of community engagement at the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce. “This will be a one-stop-shop for eating, shopping, lodging and exploring.”
Residents and business owners can submit additional information for app changes and organizations. The Terre Haute CVB and chamber say the app will eventually highlight restaurant specials and offer promotions.
“We challenge users to interact and offer feedback and additional information,” said Alsip. “We want this to be the community’s app.”
The tourism industry for Terre Haute and Vigo County brings in around 300,000 visitors each year with a $30 million economic impact.
“There really is no better time to launch a platform such as this,” said David Patterson, executive director of the Terre Haute CVB. “We are at a time where more visitors are coming to town and more events are taking place. This app will allow users to interact with the community in ways they haven’t been able to in the past.”
You can download the See You In Terre Haute app on any Apple or Android device.
