Student apartment complex opens in South Bend

The $91 million property, located near the campuses of the University of Notre Dame, Holy Cross College and St. Mary’s College, took nearly two years to complete.
The 87 includes a mix of studio through four-bedroom apartments, in addition to the townhomes, totaling 810 beds.
Toll Brothers said in a news release that the complex was designed to “nurture academic success and foster connections.” The 87 includes tech-enabled study lounges, a social lounge and coffee bar, a content creation studio, and an All Pro Lounge that includes a golf and sports simulator.
“Toll Brothers Campus Living brings the signature quality of design, luxury, and service that Toll Brothers is known for to modern student communities,” John McCullough with Toll Brothers said in the release. “The 87 brings an elevated approach to student life to South Bend, supporting a well-rounded collegiate lifestyle with the spaces and amenities needed to thrive socially and academically.”
The 87 is the first Toll Brothers Campus Living property in Indiana. The company’s portfolio also includes student housing communities at Pennsylvania State University, Florida International University, and the Georgia Institute of Technology.
