Stratosphere Quality LLC is planning to add up to 250 jobs by 2020. The eight-year-old company, which provides quality assurance and outsourcing services to the advanced manufacturing, defense and agriculture sectors, says it will pump $3.7 million into improvements at its Hamilton County headquarters. Last year, Stratosphere Quality was among 72 Hoosier companies on the Inc. 5000 list for private sector growth.
Stratosphere Quality made the list the last four years and is not new to expansion. In 2012, officials announced a $2.6 million into its Fishers HQ. It exceeded previous employee growth targets and now has more than 2,200 workers in North America, 250 of which are in Indiana. Annual revenue, says the company, is now over $100 million, growing by 40 percent between 2012 and 2015. The new positions include quality inspectors, team leaders and supervisors.
Chief Executive Officer Tom Gray says "Indiana is a great place for a growing company, and is home to a friendly business environment with a good pool of talented workers. Our employees have played a large role in our success and growth as a company. Our hiring and training practices are the fundamentals of excellent service delivery to our customers and we have sincerely appreciated the state’s assistance with our efforts."
Stratosphere Quality’s clients are located in the U.S. Mexico, Canada and China. The company has been offered up to $1 million in conditional tax credits and training grants from the Indiana Economic Development Corp.
