State Receives Record Payout from Lottery

Subscribe NowThe Hoosier Lottery says it transferred a record $375.5 million to the state of Indiana during fiscal year 2021, which ended June 30. The Hoosier Lottery Commission says the transfer is nearly $71 million over last year, an increase of 23%.
The lottery says a record $1.3 billion in scratch-off ticket sales made up a majority of Hoosier Lottery’s $1.7 billion in total revenue.
The Hoosier Lottery says it contributes $30 million to local police and firefighters’ pensions and $30 million to the Teachers’ Retirement Fund.
Hoosier Lottery Executive Director Sarah Taylor also noted that the Lottery paid out $1.1 billion in prizes to players and $117.5 million in commissions to retailers.
