Cook, who has over 25 years of community and economic development experience, previously served in a similar role in Plainfield.
During his time in Plainfield, Cook was involved in executing multiple mixed-use development projects, including the $300 million Hobbs Station project that was announced in February.
Speedway is also experiencing growth. The 25-acre Founders Square development has resulted in multiple retail establishments. Plus, Speedway says companies like Indianapolis-based Allison Transmission (NYSE: ALSN) and Dallara IndyCar factory have made major investments in their facilities.
“It is important that Speedway remains connected to our businesses while also staying engaged with the community,” said Speedway Redevelopment Commission President Jennifer Miller. “Todd’s thoughtful dialogue, fresh ideas, and past accomplishments immediately spoke volumes. The SRC looks forward to exciting and successful collaborations involving the Town, the businesses, and the Speedway Redevelopment Commission.”
Cook has also worked for the Indianapolis Department. of Metropolitan Development, the Indiana Economic Development Corp., and the Indy Chamber.
