The airline, which the airport says accounts for 34 percent of its passenger traffic annually, will grow its service from Indianapolis throughout the year. Southwest will begin seasonal nonstop service to Austin, Texas on April 8, and daily, year-round service to Oakland, California on July 15. It is also increasing the number of flights for the June-August 2018 schedule to San Diego, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando.
Indianapolis Airport Authority Executive Director Mario Rodriguez says Southwest is the facility’s most-traveled airline partner "for good reason." He says airline leaders "do their homework, and make investments aligned with what the Indianapolis market is calling for."
