Governor Eric Holcomb will Thursday join officials from South Bend International Airport and the St. Joseph County Airport Authority for an economic development announcement. No other details were provided.

The South Bend Tribune reports there has been speculation of an announcement of a new international flight to a destination such as the Bahamas since the airport became an international airport in 2014. The airport opened its general aviation facility for international flights in October 2016.

The announcement is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the airport’s information office.
