The move follows the departure of the Iric Headley, who has accepted a position with Fort Wayne-based Surack Enterprises.
UNITED Program Manager Gregg Smith-Causey will take over as interim executive director. The organization says it will be putting together a transition team to search for a new director.
“It has truly been an honor to serve under the leadership of Mayor Henry as the Fort Wayne UNITED Director, advocating, dreaming and building foundational framework for a community that we can thrive in,” said Iric Headley. “I am also grateful to be able to stay engaged in this important work, just from a different seat.”
Launched in 2016, UNITED’s mission is to engage, educate, and empower young Black men and boys in the community.
