Subscribe NowThe U.S. Department of Defense has awarded a contract boost to Rolls-Royce Marine North America in Massachusetts. The more than $8 million contract calls for work on auxiliary turbine generators for the U.S. Navy, which will be performed by Rolls-Royce Corp. in Indianapolis.
Rolls-Royce will adapt the auxiliary turbine generator of the DDG 1000 destroyer class ship for the DDG 51 Flight III class guided missile destroyer. The work is expected to be completed by March 2018.
The Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington D.C. is the contracting activity.
