One Southern Indiana, the economic development organization and chamber of commerce for Clark and Floyd counties, says the facility will initially provide educational programs for up to 55 children ages 2-5 years old.
The River Ridge Learning Center says its goal is to “provide a two-generational approach to developing the workforce of tomorrow by establishing a foundation of success for young children and equipping individuals with the essential tools to thrive in evolving industries.”
1si says the facility will employ an emergent curriculum that features a project and play-based approach to help children develop skills to prepare them for kindergarten and beyond. The facility is expected to gradually increase enrollment to up to 400 children, including infants and toddlers.
Della Micco, director of the River Ridge Learning Center – ELA, will be joined by State Senator Chris Garten (R-Charlestown), 1si Executive Vice President Matt Hall and other officials for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
