A home furnishings retailer is holding a hiring event Thursday for a new distribution center in central Indiana. Wisconsin-based Ashley Furniture Industries Inc. is looking to add more than 60 workers at its Plainfield facility, which is currently under construction. The distribution operation will serve the Indianapolis and Louisville Ashley Furniture HomeStore markets.

A company representative says the following positions will be available, and will pay more than $11 per hour:

Warehouse Positions

Merchandise Prep

Receiving Specialist

Furniture Repair Technician

Inventory Control

Delivery Coordinator

Utility Driver

Customer Service/Office

Billing/Web Pay

Customer Pick Up Clerk

Management Positions

Shift Supervisors
