The U.S. Department of Defense has awarded a nearly $43 million military contract boost to a Rensselaer manufacturer. The deal with Talbert Manufacturing Inc. calls for the procurement of trailers and associated items for the U.S. Army.

The original contract, totaling more than $17 million, was awarded last October. Work on the contract extension will be performed in Rensselaer and is expected to be complete by the end of June 2019.

The U.S. Army Contracting Command in Michigan is the contracting activity.
