The project, which was announced last September, will serve as anchor to the $550 million expansion of the Fishers District. Planners anticipate the project to be completed by the end of 2024.
The Fuel could begin playing games at the event center as soon as the 2024-25 season if construction goes as scheduled.
Los Angeles-based facility management company ASM Global will operate the venue, which is to hold 6,500 fans for Fuel and basketball games and more than 8,000 people for concerts and other entertainment events.
ASM says it expects the Fishers Event Center will bring in up to 130 events in its first two years, including 36 home games for the Fuel. By the contract’s fifth year, the center could be hosting 160 total events annually.
