The increase is being attributed to expanded collaboration with the West Lafayette campus and more targeted recruitment and support.
Overall, the campus has 499 international students from 62 countries. Of that total, 334 are graduate students and 165 undergrads.
“We can learn so much from their perspective and their cultures, and not just what the classroom can provide,” said Ryan Wooley, associate vice chancellor of enrollment management, in a news release. “It just goes to enhance our whole educational environment from many perspectives.”
The most popular countries are India, Nigeria, Bangladesh, the Republic of Korea and Ghana. Computer science, biology and business are the top undergrad majors, while computer science, biology and business are popular among grad students.
Last year, 375 international students were taking classes. The number has continued to grow since 2017 when it had 227 students.
