Pridgeon & Clay to close Franklin manufacturing plant

In a notice to the state, the company said the move will impact 125 workers, though a specific closing date was not provided.
The 76,000-square-foot plant at 150 Arvin Road in Franklin specializes in lighter gauge stamping, according to the company’s website.
Pridgeon & Clay did not provide a reason for the closure, and multiple requests for more information from Inside INdiana Business were not returned.
In its Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filing with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, the company said it laid off six workers on June 17 and another 66 on Sept. 16. However, a timeline for the layoffs of the remaining employees was not outlind.
The company said the closure is expected to be permanent, and the affected workers are not represented by a union and do not have bumping rights.
