Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report Reyes Holdings LLC is not closing the facility completely, but will lay off an undisclosed number of employees as a result.
The delivery operations at the sales and distribution facility have been open for 25 years. In a statement obtained by The Times, Great Lakes said some jobs will be moved to another facility in Alsip, Illinois.
The company says the employees affected by the move will receive assistance in finding alternative jobs within the company.
"We deeply value the contributions our team members have made, and we have worked hard to minimize impact to employees," Great Lakes said in a statement. "At Great Lakes Coca-Cola, we are always evaluating our business and organizational structure to ensure we remain competitive as an industry leader."
