Paving, Trucking Firm Changes Name

An Indianapolis-based asphalt, concrete and trucking company has changed its name after more than 60 years in the business. The Harding Group, which started in 1960, is now Howard Companies.
The company says the new brand reflects its evolution from a single paving company to a business with multiple divisions.
“Our company continues to excel and grow, and we believe the new name and logo demonstrates to our customers we are different today than we were several years ago,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Shelby Howard, who acquired the business about two years ago. “We continue to invest in our company to consistently deliver superior quality and service to our customers, and this is another milestone in our growth.”
The company employs about 300 workers and provides service throughout central Indiana.
