As a certified member of the network, Parkview Cancer Institute will now have access to MD Anderson resources to assist with the diagnosing, treatment and quality of cancer care provided in northeast Indiana.
As part of the affiliation, the certified physicians of Parkview Cancer Institute will tap into the expertise of MD Anderson and may collaborate with faculty to develop treatment plans for patients.
Parkview is the third Hoosier hospital to earn certification with the network, joining Community Health Network in Indianapolis and Deaconess Health System in Evansville.
“This affiliation allows Parkview to access best practices from the experts at MD Anderson and merge them with our own high standards of care,” said Neil Sharma, MD, president, Parkview Cancer Institute, in a news release. “Our local physicians can work with physicians in Houston, developing a comprehensive treatment plan that is centered around the patient. This network/program combines the best of what we do locally with the expertise of a national leader.”
