The announcement comes as McMillan is preparing for his third season as head coach. During his first two seasons, McMillan has amassed a 90-74 record and brought the team to the NBA Playoffs in the 2017-2018 season.
"I’m really proud of what Nate and our coaching staff have done," Kevin Pritchard, president of basketball operations for the Pacers, said in a news release. "Nate is very deserving of this extension. We have a wonderful culture and he has been a big part of implementing that culture. He’s dedicated leader, a very good coach and we’re lucky to have him here with the Pacers."
McMillan was named head coach in May 2016 after serving three seasons as associate head coach for the Pacers.
