Owned and operated by Fabio Viviani Hospitality Group, Osteria will open this fall and plans to hire at least 50 employees.
Fabio Viviani is a celebrity chef, hospitality developer, author and TV host, known for his appearance on the show Top Chef.
“We are ecstatic for the opportunity to team up with one of the top food retailers to bring Osteria to life in Carmel,” said Viviani. “When we started looking to expand into other markets, we identified Carmel immediately because of its community ideals and evolving food scene. We are building something much larger than just a restaurant at Carmel Market District; it’ll be a place where patrons can enjoy each other’s company and some of the best Italian cuisine the state has to offer.”
Carmel Market District says guests will see a completed floor-to-ceiling makeover including an upgraded restaurant layout.
Carmel Market District will serve as Osteria by Fabio Viviani’s largest pantry of fresh products. In collaboration with the incoming executive chef team, Osteria’s menu will be curated by Viviani and will include a variety of Italian flavors with Indiana-inspired staples.
Since 2005, Viviani has opened three dozen food establishments, restaurants, bars and event spaces.
“The pandemic forced a sudden closure of Table restaurant to allow our team to best serve the community’s grocery needs, but we were ready and open to reimagining this space when the time was right… and the time has come,” said Joe Sark, general manager for Osteria by Fabio Viviani. “Fabio Viviani Hospitality Group is renowned for providing not only extraordinary food but an exceptional dining experience, which makes Osteria the perfect fit for our guests.
