The OrthoPediatrics Specialty Bracing division will develop new products for the company and is expected to grow its total addressable market by about $600 million. Joe Hauser, OrthoPediatrics’ president of trauma and deformity correction, will lead the new division.
“We are excited for the launch of the new OPSB division, and our continued expansion into pediatric orthopedic non-surgical treatments for kids,” Hauser said in a news release. “This new addition advances our growth strategy of providing a broad product portfolio uniquely designed to treat children while surrounding pediatric orthopedic surgeons with the most comprehensive product offering in the market.”
The announcement comes following OrthoPediatrics’ 2022 acquisition of MD Orthopaedics Inc., which makes a patented Mitchell Ponseti Ankle-Foot Orthosis product for treating clubfoot.
Earlier this year, the company also acquired Rhino Pediatric Orthopedic Designs, a company founded by two pediatric orthopedic surgeons that created multiple braces designed for children with Developmental Dysplasia of the hip.
OrthoPediatrics also announced the release of a new product, the DF2 Brace, as a part of its expansion. The brace is designed for femur fracture fixation in patients ages six months to five years old. The company has also recently partnered with Montreal-based Ora Medical to distribute a gait-trained device made to help children with walking disabilities.
