The change is immediate and permanent. The new banking center is slotted to open June 26.
The move comes after an employee opened fire April 10, killing five other employees at the bank. It was the 15th mass shooting of the year and shortly after three children and three adults were killed in at Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee.
“We mourn the losses and continue to support and care for the victims of the tragic event on April 10th,” said Old National Bank CEO Jim Ryan in a news release. “Out of respect for the Old National team members lost and impacted, we have made the determination to move to a new downtown location.”
The new office will be about a mile down the road at 400 W. Market St. in the city’s downtown business district. Stock Yards Bank & Trust previously occupied the office space but consolidated their operations to make room for the bank.
Commercial, Wealth and Treasury Management team members will move into a space on a different floor while their new 12,000-square-foot space on the 25th floor is being renovated.
Old National Bank is headquartered in Evansville, Indiana, and is the largest financial services holding company established in the state.
