Both organizations have approved a definitive agreement that Parkview said will help secure access to high-quality care for northwest Ohio residents.
As an affiliate, Parkview said CHWC will share in the Fort Wayne health system’s resources and efficiencies that will create “a more sustainable future for CHWC and the rural communities it serves.”
“Through the affiliation, Parkview will offer a full spectrum of high-quality care in northwest Ohio, complementing existing services and expanding our commitment to the health and well-being of our region,” Parkview CEO Rick Henvey said in a news release. “Focused on strategic growth, our integrated network already includes six rural hospitals in Indiana, where we have improved access to care.”
CHWC has two hospitals in Williams County, Ohio and an outpatient center in Fulton County. When the affiliation is finalized, the facilities will be renamed to Parkview Bryan Hospital, Parkview Montpelier Hospital and Parkview Archbold.
The affiliation will go into effect on Oct. 1.
Parkview said both organizations will work together to ensure a smooth transition for all of CHWC’s employees and providers. CHWC has more than 700 employees, according to its website.
