NYX makes temporary layoffs in New Albany

The automotive interior components manufacturer told the Indiana Department of Workforce Development the move will affect 100 employees.
NYX makes components such as door panels, center consoles, overhead consoles, glove box systems, and rear shelf package trays for the automotive industry.
The company did not provide a reason for the layoffs or an estimated time frame for when the affected workers might be recalled. The employees are not represented by a union.
NYX did not respond to multiple requests for more information from Inside INdiana Business.
The company’s notice to the state was posted just one day after Canada-based plastic components manufacturer Exo-s announced it was laying off 56 employees at its facility in Howe, Indiana. Exo-s blamed the move on a reduction in sales due to the ongoing United Auto Workers strike.
