University of Notre Dame professor Daniel Philpott has received the 2021 Distinguished Scholar Award from the International Studies Association’s Religion and International Relations Section. He serves as a political science professor and has researched the relationship between religion and democracy, ethics and religious freedom. Philpott holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and PhD. from Harvard University.
