Welch Innovation LLC Chief Executive Officer Christopher Welch will serve as director for the Indiana Consortium for the Analytical Sciences, which is a collaboration among the University of Notre Dame, Indiana University and Purdue University.
The position involves developing joint activities in analytical sciences and boosting opportunities to partner with industry, government, private sector and academic stakeholders. Notre Dame, IU and Purdue first joined forces for research in five years ago through a video-enabled, graduate level chemistry course focusing on "bench-to-bedside" technology for better patient care.
Welch is a bioanalytical and pharmaceutical chemist and he will also work with the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute, another partnership featuring the three universities, as well as the Indiana Biosciences Research Institute.
