The not-for-profit health care provider said the event will mark the culmination of its four-city expansion in northwest Indiana.
The new facility is located at 310 W. 112th Street in Crown Point. It follows the opening of additional facilities in Gary, Michigan City and East Chicago.
The health system said the expansion is the result of increasing demand for health care services due to an uptick in hospital closings in underserved communities.
“The expansion is in direct alignment with our mission, ‘building a healthy community one patient at a time,'” Director of Community Engagement Gervay Dickerson said in a news release. “We are now able to connect with the community at a more personal level because we are meeting these individuals where they are, making healthcare a regular thing for them, not something that’s difficult to access.”
The four new facilities are fully staffed in the areas of family practice, pediatrics, OB/GYN, dental, chiropractic, optical, endocrinology, mental health, and pharmacy, NorthShore said. They also offer telehealth services for non-emergent primary care, behavioral health and substance abuse treatment.
The health system did not immediately disclose how many jobs have been added with the new locations.
Congressman Frank Mrvan will be on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, which is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
NorthShore Health Centers has more than 20 locations throughout northwest Indiana, including full-service clinics, primary care clinics in local school districts and Strack & Van Til grocery stores.
