Northern Indiana’s Miller Insurance Group acquired

Subscribe NowNew York-based insurance brokerage and wealth management firm NFP is adding to its Indiana presence with the acquisition of Miller Insurance Group, a property & casualty (P&C) and benefits agency headquartered in the Marshall County of Bremen.
Financial terms of the deal are not being disclosed.
NFP, which already has offices in Indianapolis and Evansville, said the acquisition aligns with its strategic growth strategy in Indiana as it looks to expand its reach to the northern part of the state. The company acquired employee benefits brokerage firm First Person in 2021.
Miller Insurance Group has 28 employees in Indiana, an NFP spokesperson told Inside INdiana Business. Chairman Greg Miller will join NFP as senior vice president, while co-owners Christian Barnes, Joe Stiles, Chad Miller and Ben Nehls will join as vice presidents.
“With their outstanding reputation and loyal customer base across Indiana, [Miller Insurance] will help us continue to grow our strong commercial P&C presence in the state,” Amanda Rubeck, P&C managing director for NFP’s Central region, said in a news release. “We’re welcoming talented new team members with exceptional expertise and middle-market experience who will partner well with our existing team in Indiana.”
Miller Insurance Group was founded in 1937 and offers commercial property and casualty insurance and employee benefits to corporate clients and personal lines insurance in Indiana, NFP said.
Greg Miller said the acquisition is the start of another chapter in the firm’s history.
“From the time my family started this agency, we’ve invested in our people and capabilities to bring clients the best solutions and service,” Miller said in the release. “As part of NFP, we can leverage their resources, expand our offerings and bring additional value to our clients by helping them address their risk mitigation needs in Indiana and beyond.”
