The new, tuition-free adult high school is located in southwest Marion County and is a partnership between Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana and the Metropolitan School District of Decatur Township. Excel Centers, a model that helps learners 18 and over earn a diploma, were initially launched in Indiana and have spread throughout the country.
MSD of Decatur Township Superintendent Matt Prusiecki says "we wanted an Excel Center to open on our campus due to the growing success and impact it has on families and the local community. We’re thrilled to work with Goodwill to bring quality education and opportunities to our residents who haven’t received it before."
Nearly 4,000 students have graduated from an Excel Center location in the last eight years. Decatur Township’s center has so far enrolled more than 70 students.
