Our partners at WTWO-TV report the facility will provide space for many aspects of the EMS operations that are currently unavailable.
Crews broke ground on the project in October. County Commissioner Ed Michael said the new facility will provide space for Greene County EMS to store equipment and a spare vehicle, among other benefits.
“We have a training room in there,” Michael said. “We’ll have bunk rooms, shower rooms, living quarters if necessary for full-time [employees], and our headquarters will be here with our director and his secretary.”
The three-bay ambulance barn includes a drive-through bay that Michael said was built in conjunction with the county health department and Greene County General Hospital. He said the bay could provide services such as drive-through testing or vaccinations if needed.
Greene County EMS expects to move into the new facility on Sept. 1.
