The longstanding egg farm said Tuesday that former Chief Operating Officer Tony Wesner has been elected CEO and chairman of the board.
Wesner joined Rose Acre Farms in 1981 and was named COO in 2011.
He succeeds Marcus Rust, who has chosen to transition into an advisory role and become the farm’s new chief visionary officer, the company said in a post on social media.
“I’m proud to be handing the executive reins of our great egg company to a great man, and a great leader,” Rust said. “Tony has been a part of our team for 40+ years, and I know he will continue to help guide Rose Acre Farms to a great future.”
The company also named Terry Anderson as its new COO.
Rose Acre Farm’s history dates back to the late 1930s, when it was founded by David Rust. The Rust family has continued to operate the company, which is billed as the second-largest egg producer in the United States.
