The company said Thursday that former CEO Ian Harley will act as chief operating officer and remain as an executive board member.
Sapp has about 25 years in the SaaS industry and has worked with several Indianapolis businesses including co-founding and leading sales technology company Octiv, which was acquired by Conga Colorado-based in 2018.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dustin to the Traction Ag team,” Harley said in a news release. “His deep expertise in all facets of SaaS, combined with his proven abilities to scale a business, make him uniquely suited to guide Traction Ag into its next phase of innovation and growth.”
Traction has developed a software platform that allows farm managers to handle accounting, payroll and operations from a single platform that is designed specifically for farm operations. It received $3 million in seed funding in September 2022.
“2024 promises to be a pivotal year for the industry as technology continues to transform and disrupt agriculture,” Sapp said. ” I’ll be focused on partnerships, integrations and thoughtful innovation that builds upon the strong foundation and values that have made Traction Ag an industry leader.”
The announcement comes just over a year after Traction Ag acquired farm financial management platform Granular Business from Indianapolis-based Corteva Agriscience.
