National FFA reports record-high membership

The Indianapolis-based organization announced its membership is at an all-time high and growing, tallying 945,988 participants at its 9,163 chapters. This marks an 11% increase in year-to-year gains as well as an uptick of 168 new chapters.
“It’s exciting to see our numbers grow and know we continue to influence the next generation of leaders,” National FFA CEO Scott Stump said in a news release. “This generation is making a difference in their communities and agriculture. We’re excited to see the enthusiasm for agricultural education and FFA reflected in our membership.”
Indiana is credited for 13,602 members, an increase of 368 from last year.
Texas, California, Georgia, Illinois and North Carolina boasted the highest member numbers. The school-focused organization has chapters in every state, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The organization said it has over 150,000 Latino members, over 50,000 Black members, over 9,000 Asian members, over 14,000 American Indian and Alaska Native members and over 2,400 Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander members. Girls account for 43% of its member population, while non-binary kids are .6%.
Indianapolis is hosting the FFA National Convention & Expo this November 1 through 4 at a number of locations.
