Subscribe NowThe Indianapolis-based National FFA Organization and Foundation have awarded scholarships to nearly 1,800 students. The scholarships total $2.6 million for students pursuing a two-year or four-year degree, or vocational programs.
The organization says the average recipient had a GPA of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale and was in the top 16 percent of their class. More than 8,300 students applied for the scholarships with about one in five receiving one.
Applicants were selected based on several factors including FFA involvement, work experience, supervised agricultural experience, community service, leadership skills and academics. Since 1984, more than $44 million has been awarded in scholarships from the organization.
