The sale from Education Media Foundation needs FCC approval. The sale is expected to close later this year. Once it does, the company will have 12 stations in the two states.
Woof Boom Radio Lafayette Managing Partner Jim Stone will run the station. He calls the acquisition "a rare opportunity to create a station from the ground up." He is a former program director, operations manager and on-air personality for a group of radio stations in Rockford, Illinois.
In August, Woof Boom announced the acquisition of five stations in the Lima, Ohio area. Those stations are doing business as The Childers Media Group.
