The Loan Repayment Assistance Program helps reimburse students for their payments on federal student, parent PLUS and private alternative loans if their income after graduation is below $45,000, the university said in a news release.
The amount of reimbursement depends on how much the students work after graduation and their annual earnings, according to the university. Students who work full time and earn less than $20,000 are eligible for 100% tuition reimbursement until their income exceeds $45,000 or their loans are paid off. Students who work less or earn more receive a prorated amount.
“Manchester University is committed to eliminating financial barriers for its students while simultaneously providing them a high-quality, transformational education,” Ryon Kaopuiki, vice president for enrollment and marketing, said in the news release. “By expanding this program to the wider northeast Indiana community, we hope to ease the concern about loans for even more students.”
The free program was previously available only to students from Wabash County.
With locations in North Manchester and Fort Wayne, Manchester University has a student enrollment of about 1,300 and offers more than 70 areas of undergraduate, graduate and professional study, according to its website.
