Pop superstar Doja Cat, Grammy-winning band Twenty One Pilots and country artist Sam Hunt are among the acts set for the free concerts January 8-10.
Doja Cat will headline the first night of performances on the AT&T Playoff Playlist Live! Stage on Monument Circle along with pop trio AJR. Twenty One Pilots will headline night two with opening act Ava Max.
The day of the big game, Sam Hunt will perform during the Allstate Championship Tailgate with opening act BRELAND, who has been named YouTube’s Artist on the Rise.
The concerts are part of a series of fan events leading up to the National Championship game at Lucas Oil Stadium on January 10.
Among them is the Playoff Fan Central at the Indiana Convention Center, billed as a 300,000-square-foot interactive experience that will include games, youth sports clinics, pep rallies, band performances, special guest appearances, autograph signings and exhibits celebrating college football and its history.
The event will be held all three days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on January 8 and 9, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on January 10.
During a news conference Thursday afternoon, CFP Executive Director Bill Hancock said Indianapolis checks all the boxes for such a major event.
“[Indy has] great facilities, great volunteer base, great people. They know how to do big events and we’ve just been delighted with everything so far,” said Hancock.
Mark Howell, chair of the 2022 Indianapolis Host Committee, said Indianapolis has the experience to put a major event together.
“We understand how different it is. We’re the first non-bowl city to host [the game],” said Howell. “But, looking back on our experiences with the NCAA Championships, with motorsports, with the Super Bowl, we can draw on all of our experiences and expertise from those events and then with a really innovative host committee and a lot of new ideas, create things that are super special.”
