Greensburg-based MainSource Financial Group Inc. (Nasdaq: MSFG) will serve as the title sponsor of the 2016 Madison Regatta this summer. It is the first year for MainSource to sponsor the annual boat race on the Ohio River.

The race, known as the MainSource Bank Indiana Governor’s Cup Madison Regatta presented by Belterra Casino Resort, will take place July 1-3. The regatta is the oldest race site on the H1 Unlimited Racing series circuit.

"We are thrilled to sign on as the 2016 Title Sponsor for the MainSource Bank Indiana Governor’s Cup Madison Regatta," said Dwayne Cole, market president for MainSource Bank. "The Madison community puts on an amazing event and has done so for over half a century. We look forward to a wonderful weekend of activities and an exciting race."

The Madison Regatta is one of the largest sporting events in Indiana and one of the largest hydroplane races in the United States. Madison Regatta President Joe Hertz says MainSource’s support will allow them "to set an even higher standard for this and subsequent years’ events."
