Our partners at the Daily Journal report Lowe’s will lease 92,000-square-feet of a 156,000-square-foot building and hire 100 new workers.
The publication says adding the space will allow the company to provide faster and more predictable delivery to customers as it expands its distribution network.
Lowe’s spokesperson Steve Salazar told the paper the Greenwood location will allow for next-day deliveries of more products.
The retailer will lease the property from Illinois-based developer Verus Partners, which in 2018 received a $1.2 million tax break from the city to build the facility.
The paper says the remaining 64,000 square feet is still available.
Lowe’s expects to begin operations in Greenwood by the end of the year.
