Capacity Midwest, which provides third-party logistics services for a variety of industries, says the facility will employ 250 workers when fully operational.
Capacity Chief Operating Officer Kevin Adams tells Inside INdiana Business the company has made a multi-million-dollar investment in the facility, though a specific dollar figure was not provided.
The company anticipates the facility to be fully operational in the second or third quarter of 2023. By that point, the facility is expected to fulfill 30,000 e-commerce orders and 20-25 large business-to-business orders daily.
Adams said there is room for growth in the Boone County town as well.
“The company has operations on the East and West Coast. In order to better serve our existing clients and support our growth, we decided to expand into the Midwest, determining that Whitestown, Indiana was the best place to plant our flag,” Adams said. “Over the next few years, we plan to build a campus consisting of multiple facilities in Whitestown.”
Capacity says it is working with local employment agencies to fill a variety of permanent, full-time temporary and part-time positions, including supervisors, industrial engineers, maintenance technicians and general labor.
Capacity also has locations in New Jersey, California, the United Kingdom, and India.
