Juniors and seniors at Reitz Memorial High School can take classes for college credit and be on track to enter one of the university’s three-year degree tracks.
“This collaboration exemplifies our commitment to fostering excellence in education and opening doors for the next generation of scholars and leaders,” Mary Kessler, interim executive vice president of academic affairs and provost at UE, said in a news release. “Together, UE and MHS are shaping a brighter future for students as they embark on their academic and professional journeys.”
Students can take education, chemistry, biology, Spanish and psychology courses, and the credits will be transferable. Participating students will also have the opportunity to attend classes on the UE campus.
UE said faculty members will work with high school administrators and instructors to provide additional educational opportunities for MHS students.
School officials said they believe the partnership will open up education opportunities and “provide a seamless academic journey.”
