Indianapolis is offering $130,000 in COVID relief for small, immigrant-owned businesses in Indianapolis. LISC says 26 businesses have each received $5,000 grants, which were provided with support from First Financial Bank, The Glick Fund and Wells Fargo
The organization says immigrant-owned businesses have been disproportionally impacted by COVID as many are overrepresented in the service sector, especially small restaurants. LISC says language and cultural barriers have caused limited access to COVID resources and business support services.
LISC Indy says it prioritized investment in immigrant-owned businesses in historically, underserved neighborhoods in Indianapolis.
