Harba Solutions, founded in 2021 by Wade Franchville, will move from 8888 Keystone Crossing in Indianapolis to 12 Municipal Drive in Fishers.
The company plans to occupy about 3,200 square feet of the 30,000-square-foot, three-story building north of the ellipse at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater.
The building is also home to the headquarters of software and engineering-services firm Flexware Innovation Inc., which spent $3.5 million to construct the building that opened in 2020.
Harba currently employs 12 people and has plans to expand its workforce to 40 in 2023.
The company describes itself as a boutique niche scientific staffing firm that works to connect workers with pharmaceutical companies, biotech companies, medical device manufacturers and contract research organizations.
Harba’s goal is to hire 300 professionals for its Indianapolis-area clients in 2023.
Franchville said in written remarks that the company will be positioned “in the heartbeat of one of the fastest-growing life science regions.”
“I am seeing firsthand that the Fishers region is already competing with other national scientific communities to attract the best talent,” Franchville said. “The challenge is to continue retaining and attracting businesses and scientific professionals to this thriving community across Fishers and Noblesville.”
He added that his company’s objective will be to help local science graduates break into the life sciences industry and keep them in Indiana.
Fishers officials are positioning the city as a hub for the life sciences. That includes planning the Fishers Life Sciences and Innovation Park at the southwest corner of 126th Street and Cumberland Road that will be anchored by Italy-based Stevanato Group, which plans to invest $512 million in its facility and hire 515 employees by 2031.
INCog BioPharma Services in 2020 announced plans to build a $60 million biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility at the northwest corner of Exit 5 Parkway and Cumberland Road. Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness has pointed to that announcement—and others from Bangs Labs, Genezen and Project Process—as evidence of the life science industry’s interest in the area.
Telix Americas, the U.S. headquarters of Australia-based Telix Pharmaceuticals, is also leasing 10,000 square feet of office space in the 40,000-square-foot Crew CarWash headquarters building at 11700 Exit Five Parkway, near Interstate 69 and East 116th Street.
Telix Pharmaceuticals previously established its United States base of operations in a 2,600-square-foot space in the Flexware building.
Flexware Innovation, founded in 1996, is an engineering company that helps companies integrate ever-changing software with advanced manufacturing systems. It serves a variety of industries, including life sciences, food and beverage and utilities.
Japanese multinational conglomerate Hitachi Ltd. acquired Flexware Innovation in September. Flexware Innovation will become part of the Hitachi Industrial Holdings Americas group. Company founder and CEO Scott Whitlock will remain in place, along with the company’s engineering and support staffs.
