Life Sciences Company Makes Acquisition From Silicon Valley

The company has acquired California-based liquid handling company Labcyte, though financial details were not immediately disclosed.
Jonathan Pratt, president of Beckman Coulter, says Labcyte’s products complement the company’s existing liquid handling and laboratory automation business.
“Labcyte and Beckman Coulter Life Sciences share a common vision of advancing science through discovery, enabling the faster discovery and development of life-changing advances in medicine. Together we will make a powerful team, and an invaluable resource for current and future customers around the world.”
Beckman Coulter says Labcyte will transition into the company’s Danaher Life Sciences platform of companies, which generates $6.5 billion in annual revenue. The company did not say whether any jobs would be affected by the acquisition.
