Bricks and Minifigs, a chain with more than 100 locations in the United States and Canada, plans to open its first Indiana location at the Apple Glen Crossing shopping center in Fort Wayne, according to our partners at WPTA-TV. The store will be between Triumph Cycling Studio and Nothing Bundt Cakes.
Franchisee Christopher Till said he believes the community will eagerly embrace what his store will have to offer.
“Our city has a huge community of Lego enthusiasts,” Till said. “They range from ages young to old.”
At Bricks and Minifigs, people can buy, sell and trade Lego pieces and sets as well as come in and build.
“It is something worth checking out because Fort Wayne doesn’t really have a store like this,” Till said. “This is not just a store; it’s an experience.”
The first Bricks and Minifigs store was launched in 2010 in Battle Ground, Washington, by a pair of Lego enthusiasts, according to the company’s website. The first franchise location opened the following year. The closest locations to Indianapolis that are now open are in Hamilton, Ohio, and Louisville, Kentucky.
A specific date for the Fort Wayne opening has not been made public.
Till told WPTA-TV that the store is appealing even if you are not a die-hard Legos fan.
“I would recommend anybody that is looking for anything fun, interesting, different, goofy, it doesn’t matter.” Till said. “If it sparks your inner child, come out and see us.”
The global popularity of the plastic bricks seems unyielding. The Danish toy manufacturer is the largest toy company in the world by revenues, according to data research firm Statista. Lego posted 2023 revenues of about $9.65 billion.
