Subscribe NowConverse-based First Farmers Financial Corp. says Gene Miles has stepped down from his daily responsibilities as chief executive officer of First Farmers Bank & Trust. However, the banking company says Miles will continue serving as president and CEO of the parent company.
The firm says bank president Mark Holt will serve as president and CEO of the bank.
Miles has been with First Farmers for more than 40 years, starting as a branch manager in 1979. During his career, he also served as a commercial loan officer, investment officer and accounting office. In 1999, Miles named bank president & CEO.
First Farmers says when Miles began, the bank had total assets of $44 million and three branches. First Farmers Financial Corp is now a $2.2 billion financial holding company with 35 banking locations.
