Lake County Foundations Collaborate on COVID Funds

Merrillville-based Legacy Foundation Inc. is collaborating with Crown Point Community Foundation and Foundations of East Chicago on the COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund.
The fund, managed by Legacy Foundation, will provide flexible resources in the near-term to nonprofits in Lake County that are aiding the elderly, high-risk patients, and low-income families.
Together they will coordinate funding efforts by using a single grant application to simplify the process and to reduce duplicates gifts.
Grants ranging from $2,000 to $15,000 to Lake County nonprofits.
In order to distribute money quicker, grant applications will be due weekly every Sunday by midnight and decisions will be made that week.
