Columbia City-based Schrader Real Estate and Auction Co., which is conducting the auction, says the farm includes cropland, timber and recreational potential.
The farm includes more than 1,400 acres of Farm Service Agency cropland and will be offered in 15 tracts ranging from 34 to 300 acres.
Brad Horrall, co-manager of the auction, says the wooded tracts include mature hardwoods and abundant populations of white tail deer and turkey.
“The tillable land has productive soils including Petrolia, Nolin, Haymond, Armiesburg, Sylvan and Iona,” Schrader President R.D. Schrader said in written remarks. “The considerable amounts of contiguous tillable land allow for efficient operations as well as the possibility of irrigation, using abundant water from the White River. Some of this land has not been offered for sale in many years.”
The auction is scheduled for 6 p.m. on October 25 at the Highland Woods Community Center in Vincennes.
