Jonathan Byrd’s says it is preparing to open its new restaurant in the Grand Park Events Center in Westfield.
Ginny Byrd, president of Byrd Enterprises Inc., told our partners at Daily Journal the decision to close the Greenwood restaurant was a difficult one, but the right one. The decision comes two years after Jonathan Byrd’s decided to close its 400-seat cafeteria in favor of a 50-seat venue and an enhanced focus on catering.
The Jonathan Byrd’s Facebook page says the Byrd Conference Center in Greenwood will continue operations, though Daily Journal reports it will close at the end of the year.
The Grand Park Events Center is set to open in July. Jonathan Byrd’s is very familiar with Grand Park, as it bought the naming rights to the park’s indoor volleyball and basketball facility.
Last month, Jonathan Byrd’s Event & Entertainment LLC, a joint venture between Byrd Enterprises and LST Marketing LLC, announced it has entered into a multi-year agreement with the city of Westfield to manage commercial business and marketing for Grand Park Events Center.
