The school, which has a presence in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and online, has created a position for the task. KC Haight will serve as director of military and veteran recruitment and will work from IWU’s Louisville Education Center.
Haight retired after 23 years as a non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force. He previously served as associate vice president of military and corporate development at Ashford University in San Diego and played a role in developing military communities at the University of Phoenix and DeVry University in Arizona.
Haight calls IWU "military friendly at a very deep level" and says the school has "the leadership that believes in that dynamic. I am highly enthusiastic about reaching out to military students and connecting with them." Haight adds "My goal is to prepare our nations’ protectors for the day when their uniform comes off."
The school offers financial assistance for active-duty military students and their spouses and tuition discounts for many online and on-campus adult and graduate programs. Additionally, IWU offers a tuition discount to veterans who have run out of or are no longer eligible for Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits.
